‚Äč'Shepherding the Emotionally Destructive Marriage Webinar'

There are some tips in this video that may help you deal with the issue if you are a church or ministry group leader. Although it is no secret that these issues are in our homes, churches and communities, often they are left unattended and eventually lead to divorce. If we can obtain the relevant tools to help those who are in need of such help, then we (the body of Christ) can be that light shining into the dark areas of our society.

We asked Jody, our current featured writer, to share with our readers something on marriage and this is what she said, speaking from the place of a wife:

There is a hard 'aha' moment when you realize as good as your intentions and efforts are to fulfill your marriage vows you simply do not have the resources to carry them out indefinitely. The true power of love comes from the River of Life that is Christ Jesus. His love is complete and  infinite where ours is limited and finite - it may work wonderfully, for awhile, but it eventually runs out and 'self' just naturally gets in the way. When that happens the trouble and disease of your relationship is seeded and if left unchecked can sap whatever life there is until it is consumed.

If you have an intimate relationship with your Savior you can't help but learn how to live and love like He does and with the power of Heaven within you, your spouse will be captivated by Christ in you and you will find your joint cup overflowing with blessing.

Of course, along with the natural storms our country is experiencing, we're also in the midst of civil / political unrest that has come with our nation's new administration.  It would behoove not only couples but nations and peoples to follow that very counsel - it is a call to lasting unity and peace within the boundaries of all relationship found only in Christ.

A WORD FROM JODY

Marriage Week |7-14 February

Marriage was designed by God and is the first institution. Therefore, it is our first ministry (to those of us who are married) and as well as being able to obtain the help needed when we need it, we should also be in a position to provide that help to those who are in need. A breakdown in our marriages will effectively have a domino effect on other relationships.  It will affect our parenting and most definitely our effectiveness in the various ministries we are involved in outside our homes.

My greatest lesson was to realize true and lasting success comes when you take your eyes off your husband (spouse) and instead focus on your Husband (Christ) all for the purpose of learning what His love for you looks and feels like so once you truly know it for yourself can you love like that, by His power alone.
