Travel Q&A

Q1 Answered

If you have internet access this is a great place to begin but always seek advice from:

Embassies;
Tourist boards;
Updated travel guides; and
Local news on your destination (this can be done via the FCO - Foreign and Commonwealth Office before travel)

Information is also available at the hotel's frontdesk if you are staying in a hotel and from family members if staying with friends and relatives

The hotel code 'RO' stands for Room Only.  This means that none of your meals are included in the price that you've paid.  It doesn't mean that you cannot eat on the property, however, just that you will have to consider the additional cost to your holiday.  This is not necessarily a bad option if you like to be out and about.  A room only property gives you the flexibility of eating out or eating on the property.  This option, unlike an all-inclusive property, gives you a reason to explore your destination, by finding eating spots for lunch and dinner each day.

To avoid disappointments, anyone who has a code they don't recognise on their ticket, hotel pass or booking itinerary should always ask their booking agent for clarification.  This is especially important if you are a family or group travelling together.

Try searching for the property online, to see what activities they provide.  If you have booked through a travel agent or tour operator, your booking agent will be able to provide these information for you.  Also, if you contact the tourist board of the destination you are travelling to, they will have a list of the different properties and what they have on offer.  Hope this is of help to you.
