The Borderline is Over-crowdedSitting on the borderline is deciding not to be obedient to the call to serve. It is going to church as a tradition but not as an act of worship. We are created for God’s pleasure: to worship Him in spirit and in truth. He is to be adored and honoured always. His name is to be glorified and all praises belong to Him – not man. But some of us are not willing to surrender our all to God and serve Him fully. Some covet the praise that belongs to God. Others surrender apart of their lives and want to take control of the rest then expect to receive a blessing from God:
We have a choice:
Step on the right side (surrendering our will to God’s will); or
step on the wrong side (where there are no rules yet we remain a slave to our own will)
The right side:
Stepping on the right side of the border opens the door to our blessings. But on the right side everyone has to work in the vineyard, there is no room for idlers. The devil is the one who has use for idlers as the saying goes: ‘the devil finds work for idle hands’. So when we choose to step on the right side we need to be prepared to work. If we don’t work we’ll have nothing to reap. And when we aren’t reaping and we see someone ‘walking in prosperity’ we sometimes wonder why we can’t receive our blessings.
Blessings are the results of labour. Our blessings are waiting for us to claim, so we need to start working in God’s field so that we may receive all the blessings promised to us.
The wrong side:
On the left side of the border, there are no rules to live by. In stepping on the wrong side, we declare ourselves lord and master of our own lives. We can live anyway we want to, and our journey will have no meaning. Nothing to look forward to – anything goes. Deception and lies become our way of life.
But be warned that God is still watching and is still in control of our destiny. There are consequences when we choose not to obey the Lord – He punishes wrongdoing and the end result is eternal damnation.
The borderline:
Our generation of ‘believers’ are mainly seated on the borderline; with one foot in the church and the other out in the world (it is overcrowded). But we need to make the choice to serve or not to serve. If you are standing or sitting on the borderline, know that it only takes a split second to slip into eternal damnation. Don’t wait until it’s too late; slip into glory today. You can make the choice to surrender your will to God today and watch how He works in your life from this day forward. God promised us a full life and many do not believe that this is a promise for today—not for this life. But God’s instructions are there to guide us on how to live today. He wants us to enjoy life – life in abundance (John 10:10). Total surrender to Christ will bring you into the fullness of this promise of an abundant life.
