"...I will never leave you nor forsake you."
Welcome! In His Service
Welcome to my first entry for 2013. I was not able to update as regularly as I wanted to, due to the lack of an effective pc. Thankfully, things have changed for the better and I am now able to update you.
The title of this entry may have given you a clue to my current state of emotion. This year many things have been put on hold to honour the life of a dear loved one, my aunt, Grace.
Grace James nee Peddie, was my mother's youngest sibling. Auntie Grace played the role of a big sister, mother, prayer-warrior, friend and counsellor in my life. My family and extended family are in mourning, as we've just laid her to rest. She died on Monday, the fourteenth day of January 2013 and was buried on Saturday, the second day of February 2013. I started writing, in order to honour my aunt and it has been helping me to deal with the pain. Remembering the cherished moments I shared with her have come to start the process of healing. You can read my first two articles by clicking on the links below or by accessing them from the home page:
Article 1 ~ A Tribute to Grace James nee Peddie
Article 2 ~ A Testimony from Grace James nee Peddie
I have been remembering her beautiful smile and all the kind and fun things she did. However, the pain is real and still raw. I know it is only the beginning of the process of healing for me while I am aware my aunt's husband and children will still be going through the grieving process for a much longer period. I am also aware that my mother, my other aunt and my two uncles will also be grieving the loss of their sister in different ways. Understanding this, I now request your prayers for our entire family. I am praying that God's healing will penetrate the heart of all who are hurting today, especially her husband and children who will no doubt struggle to come to terms with a life without their mother and wife. May God's peace keep our hearts and minds through the storm; in this time of sorrow.
Thank you for your continued prayers.
Your sister in Christ
08th February 2013.
