Ministering Through Songs “…from the grave to the sky…”
Grasping the Meaning of the Songs (1)
By Janice S Ramkissoon
The grave represents death/finality. I often pause at this point for two reasons. The first reason I pause is that I find my mind thinking of the darkness of the grave and that there is a time to mourn and a time to laugh. When we lose loved ones we take time-out to mourn the death and allow the process of grieving to run its course. The second reason I pause is that Jesus was in the grave for three days. I find my mind travelling with Jesus to hell, as I watch Him reclaim the key that was stolen from us. This key was taken from us when the spirit of deception entered the garden of Eden. At this point, in the song, I can see the demons trembling as they clear the path for my Lord and Saviour to accomplish His task. Then I envisage the third day as He rose from the world of the dead. At this point, the laughter returns. Joy overwhelms my soul and my heart is filled with gratitude. It excites me as I watch Him return to heaven to take up His rightful place, in the Kingdom. Then again, as He sends The Holy Spirit and as He intercedes on my behalf—knowing exactly what lies ahead for me. Today I rejoice seeing how His victory over death gives life to every dead situation in my life. Hallelujah!
