Contagious Christians 7

A Sermon:
CONTAGIOUS CHRISTIANS
By L. Miller

2 Peter 1:13-20

 Becoming a Contagious Christian

Use every opportunity to tell others about the love of Jesus Christ. This means including the bad and negative experiences we would rather not remember happened for several reasons:

(A) because of the humiliation associated with them; the pain, hurt and anger we want to forget but this will prove to the prospect/s that Christians are not superficial but real people who have had bad things happening to them in life.

(B)  Sharing your testimonies show his mercies and loving kindness to those who seeks to accept Him as Lord and Savior in their lives.

(C) In sharing your testimonies, others will understand that Jesus Christ is not partial but is gracious and kind, you might prevent these people from making a bad situation worse. People tends to feel worthless if they believed that they have failed morally and ethically, some also feels that suicide is the best option to their specific situation. Hearing the believer’s testimony may make a world of difference for such individuals because.

The believer
having had a similar experience gives him or her, the opportunity to tell others of the grace of God that gave him / her, the strength to hold on dearly to life not  giving up or letting go when they feel like it especially in light of the fact that things had seems hopelessly impossible at that time.

Sometimes
individuals make mountains out of the sin they are conscious of in their lives but in reality it may be a simple issue when compared to what some believers have experienced in the past and will have to face because of the attacks that they will undergo for the name of Jesus Christ. Believers are expected to show Christ – likeness to everyone they have the opportunity to interact with.

The woman
at the well is a typical case of being a contagious Christian, when she met the “Christ” she forgets that she was an outcast voluntary or otherwise and that she did not want to have anything to do with the people in town because of her reputation. She however ran to them and says come she a man who has told me of my past, could this be the Christ that is to come? She set her personal difference with the people aside so that others could meet Christ, what about you brethren are you so caught up with your own agendas / issues that sharing the good news of salvation is placed on the backburner of your life?

As believers
we need to take stock of our lives, by asking these questions:

What it is that is preventing me from doing the will of God i.e. obeying the great commission?

Is it that some of us believers know about Jesus and don’t know Him as our Lord and Savior?

Or if my life-style is the problem? I preach the Gospel everyday, but my life- style turns people off from the desire of hearing the gospel being preached.

Jesus commands his audience to listen to what the Pharisees told them to do but do not do what they do. AMEN.
