A Sermon:
CONTAGIOUS CHRISTIANS
By L. Miller
2 Peter 1:13-20
Peter knew that the time he had was limited because he was about to die. Furthermore he was in chains at the time he wrote this letter to the believers. Since his death was imminent, he did not focus on his predicament. Some of us when faced with certain dilemmas tend to be side-tracked and put God’s business aside, in an attempt to deal with the matters that interfere with our expectations and destabilizes our status-quo. Some of these issues that cause believers to be side – tracked are:
Relationships issues: Family disagreements of every nature; be it marital issues between spouses, children and parents, sibling rivalries and extended family members. Then there is also the disagreement with neighbors, friends, co – workers, and the boss.
Economical conditions: The inability to meet one’s financial obligation is one of the primary reasons; some believers feel despondent and are not motivated to praise the Lord in the way that He deserves. They are too bogged down thinking of the bills to be paid, children to go to school and the things they want to but cannot afford to do because the resource is not available.
