Conflicting Thoughts By Janice Ramkissoon 4th May 2005 Love is my passion. Anger is my best friend. Laughter I long for, But on sorrow I can depend. A bastard they say I am, It sinks into my very being. Soon I forget Gods plan, And allow the enemy to deceive. Tears are my comfort: “An orphan… A reject… Unwanted...Unloved…” Yes, I’m a total mess. These feelings overwhelm me When often I forget; That the One who made me, Provides direction as well. I know that I’m blessed! For all around I see the evidence, Of love from my heavenly Father; But still I wear a coat of self-defence. Rest my desire, sleep my enemy, Light and darkness rules my day. Exhaustion my way of life, Eventide passes me unaware. Just a hint of life in me left; My strength is failing. But I must push ahead, Still, my batteries need recharging.
