Introduction to Joanne Lowe's articles
(I Fit In & Nobody Came)
The following summarizes my thoughts as I read these articles:
"Wake up Children of the Living God and do HIS will. You cannot pretend to love. Love is evident in the way we ACT. It is commanded of us to LOVE one another. We cannot do that just by saying, 'I love you'. We need to show it always, in our everyday lifestyle. 'Walk the walk' and 'talk the talk' because those who are looking to us for guidance are often turned away by our actions".
I hope that these articles will open eyes, especially the eyes of our church-leaders eyes that can see the needs of the people in the pews, as well as those outside the walls of the building. The Gospel is the ‘Good news’ of love, but not many get to hear it because we reserve it only for those who will come to us.
We were called to go out in the highways and byways to reach souls for Christ. Therefore we need to leave the comfort zones of our church buildings and start claiming back what the devil has stolen. Reach those who feel there is no reason to live. Show them the LOVE of God and witness to them with your life - let them know of the HOPE you speak of. Go to the mental homes; the prisons; those in social care systems. Walk the streets of your community and let the lost know that they belong. They won't come to you - you need to go to them. They need you.
The freedom that Jesus Christ brings to us is not for a select few that can turn up to a church building, on a weekly basis. It is for all. But not many know it, because some preachers/church leaders spend more time looking at the perfectly written sermon for the next service or the plaque on the wall. Even more time is spent trying to please ‘men’ in the way the sermon is presented. The time has come to repent and humble ourselves before God, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us in everything we do. Our actions must be in line with the will of God.
We cannot save anyone but we need to be true disciples so they can see the love of Christ in us and come to know Him themselves.
Be true leaders of HIS flock...
